When AI Steps In, Don’t Step Out – Lean In!

I’ve been thinking a lot about how quickly AI is becoming an integral part of our everyday lives and how it appears to be the solution for almost everything. From auto-generated meeting notes to tools that help us write reports or crunch numbers—it’s amazing. As a Google-trained data analyst in SQL and R, I’m all in for tools that make our lives easier.

But here’s the thing: we cannot replace being human.

Project management and collaboration aren’t just about checklists, metrics, or dashboards. It’s about conversations that don’t fit into a spreadsheet. It’s knowing when to pause a meeting because someone appears to be carrying more than their workload. It’s noticing when someone shines and taking the time to say, “I see you. That was great”, or “What are you thinking?”

AI can help with the “what” and the “how,” but it doesn’t always understand the “why.” It doesn’t know your team’s jokes, your culture, or the quiet way someone leads from the middle.

So, how do we make space for AI without losing ourselves?

We stay curious and grounded. We use tools, but we don’t let them define how we lead. We continue to ask questions, provide feedback, create space for creativity, and remember that trust and empathy remain the most important factors.

AI can make us faster. But it’s our humanity that makes us better.
